Carlos Oliveros Print E-mail

Carlos Oliveros joined as a CSR analyst in July 2009.

Carlos holds two bachelor degrees in Political Science and Government and International Relations from the Rosario University in Colombia where he focused in both democratic participation and international security issues for his thesis projects. Currently he is a Master's candidate in International Development and Management (LUMID) programme in Lund University.

He has previous experience working as a Research Assistant in Development and Gender Projects for two years in the CEPI (Centro de Estudios Politicos en Internacionales) and as an advisor for the Forbes Magazine Research group in Bogota. He interned in the public sector with the Colombian Ministry of Foreign Affairs in the Direction of Multilateral Economic, Social and Environmental Affairs.

Carlos speaks Spanish (native), English (fluent) and French (intermediate).

 
Dr. Geoffrey Williams Print E-mail

Dr. Geoffrey Williams Dr Geoffrey Williams is a founder and Managing Director of OWW Consulting in Malaysia and Singapore. He has designed and directed numerous research projects for the UK Government (DTI), European Commission (DG-Research), and European Standards Agency, among others. He has also worked with private companies and charities including PA Consulting Group, leading UK law firm Allen & Overy, and the Wellcome Trust UK. He is a member of the EU Malaysia Chamber of Commerce and Industry (EUMCCI) CSR Committee.

Geoffrey has held academic positions at London Business School, Pembroke College University of Oxford and elsewhere. He has published extensively in leading academic journals worldwide.

He is an Associate Member of the Centre for Business, Organisations and Society, School of Management, University of Bath, United Kingdom and was elected Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts (RSA) in 2004.

Geoffrey’s most recent research has focussed on Corporate Social Responsibility in a global context and in particular, on the factors that determine the success of CSR initiatives in different socio-political contexts. He has also published original research on the profile of SRI investors in a cross-country setting and the factors that determine the decision to invest in SRI products.

Geoffrey also has an active research interest in the development of practical management tools for the assessment and implementation of successful CSR systems within companies, which led to the development of the OWW Responsibility™ CSR Assessment Tool.

OWW Consulting has also established the first SRI Index in Malaysia and also the first SRI Index for Singapore.

His work has been published in leading academic journals including Oxford Review of Economic Policy, Journal of Business Ethics, Journal of Economic Behavior and Organisation, Research Policy, Business Ethics: A European Review, Review of Income and Wealth, European Competition Law Review, Review of Financial Economics, Journal of Behavioral Finance, Journal of Macroeconomics, Information Economics and Policy, Applied Economics, Applied Financial Economics, International Review of Business and Economics.

His research output has had direct impact in the business world and has been covered in the media including the Financial Times, the Wall Street Journal, Bloomberg, CNBC, the Edge (Malaysia) and the Sun newspaper in the UK.

His speaking events include the American Economic Association Meeting 2004 (San Diego), chair of a special session on culture and economics; the Asian Strategy and Leadership Institute (ASLI) CSR Conference 2006 in KL; the MIA 2006 National Accountants' Conference in KL in a special session on CSR. He will be speaking on SRI at the major CSR Conference in KL on 1-2 March 2007 and at the International Institute for Research (IIR Middle East) CSR Summit 24-28 June 2007 in Dubai. He has also been invited to write a series of four articles on CSR for the Malaysian Institute of Management, the first of which, on Socially Responsible Investment, will appear in the April 2007 issue of their quarterly journal.

E-Yon Park Print E-mail

E-Yon Park joined OWW a CSR Analyst in July 2009.

E-Yon graduated with an MA in Politics from New York University and a BA in Political Science from the Ohio State University, Columbus. During her graduate studies at NYU, she specialized in political economy and her research interests include regionalism in trade and development, comparative politics, quantitative methods, nationalism, and political economy model in both developed and developing countries. Her masters thesis focused on how political factors affect the electoral outcomes with free trade agreements issues. She also worked as a teaching fellowship at NYU Stern School of Business and a teaching assistant at NYU Department of Politics.

Previously, she worked as an occupancy technician at the Housing Authority, Houston, Texas, where she was responsible for reviewing and screening the application files in US Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD)’s Section 8 program and issuing vouchers. E-Yon interned at the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF), New York in researching the issues of social protection, children and migration, gender and remittances. She also held an internship at the United Nations Department of Economic and Social Affairs (UN-DESA), New York, where she collected re-exports data from all the UN member countries and decided appropriate data set for 2000-2008 Annual Total Trade and UN Comtrade data.

She speaks Korean (native), English (fluent), and French (basic).

 
Enakshi Sengupta Print E-mail

Enakshi Sengupta is a doctoral student from Nottingham University. She has over 12 years of experience working in the marketing and communication industry. She is an MBA with Merit from the University of Nottingham, having received a distinction in her management project in CSR. She is also a qualified chartered PR practitioner from The Charter Institute of Public Relations, UK. She has done her Masters in English Literature from Calcutta University, a Bachelor’s degree in English Honours from St. Xavier’s College, Calcutta and a Bachelor’s Degree in Education from Calcutta University.

She has also expertise in the field of marketing acquired through a Diploma in Marketing Management from Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies, India and an Advanced Certificate in Marketing from The Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM), UK.

She is also a Senior CSR Consultant to OWW Consulting. Sdn. Bhd, Malaysia, who is a leader in CSR in Asia and the Middle East. She is a regular contributor to Public Affairs Asia and India PR Blog.

 
Lau, Maria Delia Ibanez Print E-mail
Lau,  Maria Delia  Ibanez ('Jing') is our Japanese Translator and Assistant to our SRI Analysis Team.

Jing's main roles are in support and advisory services for our SRI Team for research on companies in Japan. She currently assists with all of our major Japanese company analyses.

Jing has extensive experience of working in the corporate sector as a Japanese language specialist, trainer and translator for a number of major regional companies.

Jing is a graduate in Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education Philippine Christian University and holds a number of Japanese Teaching and Language qualifications including Japanese Teachers Training Certificate Sponsored by Japan Foundation KL, Short Term Training Program for Japanese Language in Saitama Japan / Sponsored by Japan Foundation Scholarship Fund KL and Japanese Language Course Certification from Japan Foundation Philippines. She is a recipient of the Outstanding Students Study Tour Scholarship to Japan Sponsored by Japan Foundation Philippines.
 
Luke Wood Print E-mail

Luke WoodLuke Wood is a founding member of OWW Consulting and was appointed Technical Director in June 2006.

He is an MBA graduate of Nottingham University Business School (NUBS) and has a BA(Hons) in Music from Kingston University, United Kingdom. His MBA dissertation on media piracy was awarded with distinction.

His professional experience is drawn from the music industry in the United Kingdom in which he worked in a variety of technical roles for a number of years.

He was involved in the design and creation of a digital music library of 700,000 commercial tracks. This music was used in a range of web-based commercial applications including digital jukeboxes. An investigative study was conducted in 2006 to establish the feasibility of expanding this business into Malaysia and Singapore. He has also investigated methods to combat the illegal exploitation of copyrighted music on the internet.

Luke has also worked in a variety of positions involving direct, practical music technology skills. His experience includes creating polyphonic ringtones for download and methods for recording and editing digital music, CD production and web-casting.

He has a strong background and understanding of business problems in high technology industries both from a practical and research perspective and has extensive experience of data collection and web-based surveying techniques.

Within OWW Consulting, Luke is responsible for the creation of research systems and processes, the design and implementation of surveys and the collation and analysis of survey data using web-based technologies.

 
Nur Muhammad Tajrid Bin Datuk Dr Zahalan Print E-mail
Nur Muhammad Tajrid Bin Datuk Dr Zahalan is the Assistant to the Directors.

Tajrid is responsible for managing the time schedules and activities of the the three Directors and in assisting the general management of the Company. He is also responsible for Client Liaison and IT related support.

Tajrid is also the Managing Director of his own event management company Pengurusan Gemilang Sari and holds a Diploma in Airline Flight Management and Customer Service.
 
Nurol Latif Print E-mail
Nurol LatifNurol Latif was appointed CSR Analyst in December 2007.

She is a BBA graduate of Universiti Teknologi MARA, Malaysia majoring in International Business. Nurol also holds an Accounting Diploma from the same university. Her degree final thesis focused on Corporate Social Responsibility. In June 2007, she took a course in Fundraising and Communications with Universiti Tunku Abdul Rahman (UTAR) where she extended her knowledge in fundraising and charity awareness and widened her network among the NGOs.

Nurol trained under the Corporate Communications wing in Maxis Communications Berhad in which she assisted the Corporate Events and Sponsorship department. After graduating from Universiti Teknologi MARA, Nurol joined the Perdana Leadership Foundation. This organisation was founded by Malaysia's former Prime Minister Tun Dr. Mahathir Mohamad and focussed on disseminating, collecting and preserving the nation's leadership history. She served as the Communications and Publications executive for a year, where she was also the Deputy Editor for the Foundation's newsletter and the Public Relations personnel.

Nurol was involved in the Perdana Global Peace Forum in February 2007 and Merdeka 50: A Celebration of Malaysian Art exhibition in August 2007. She also was involved in several other events as part of the organising committee.

Within OWW Consulting, Nurol is a key part of our SRI Analysis Team and is also involved in web content management for CSR Malaysia.
 
Sanjukta Choudhury Kaul Print E-mail
Sanjukta Choudhury Kaul, was appointed Senior CSR Analyst in September 2008.

Sanjukta's main roles are in client support and advisory services on CSR policies, implementation and reporting. She currently assists with all of our major client accounts including market development in India.

Sanjukta holds an MA (with Distinction) in Corporate Social Responsibility (2006-2007) from Nottingham University Business School (International Centre for Corporate Social Responsibility, ICCSR). Her work experience is drawn from corporate communications where she has held several senior positions including Head of Corporate Communications for the Swedish-owned firm SKF (India) Limited, Manager, Corporate Communications, Cummins Group of Companies (India)..

Sanjukta also holds a Master’s Degree in Communication Studies, (University of Pune, India), Bachelor’s Degree in Sciences, and HSC (both University of Mumbai, India). Her awards and distinctions include a British Chevening Scholarship (2006-07) to Nottingham University Business School, UK, Young PR Professional for the year – COE Asia Pacific , PR WEEK Awards 2002, Hong Kong and Global Communication Internship.

She is a Certified Diversity Trainer and speaks English, Hindi and Bengali fluently. She is currently learning British Sign Language.
 
Sean Lim Print E-mail

Sean joined OWW Consulting in April 2009.

He graduated from University of New South Wales with a Bachelor of Commerce degree major in Finance and Economics. He also did Japanese during as his elective subject and has participated in a half year exchange program in Kudanshita Language Program in Tokyo, Japan.

Prior to joining OWW Consulting, he has been an Executive in the Business Research & Information Services Division at PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) Malaysia. His job scope includes research, analyse, gather and collate financial and non-financial information on advisory and Bloomberg request. He had also served in IBM Malaysia as an intern for 3 months as a junior financial analyst.

Sean contribution includes Norwegian Pension Fund (NPF) allegations and negative screenings on Asian companies. He had also rated Malaysian, Indonesian, Singaporean, Korean, Hong Kong (China) and Indian companies on their respective Environmental, Social and Governance score which to be compiled into SRI Index.

He is fluent in English (native), Chinese (fluent), Malay (fluent) and Japanese (Intermediate).

 
Serena Chong Print E-mail
Serena ChongSerena W.Y. Chong joined OWW as Senior CSR Analyst in January 2009.

She holds an MSc (Merit) in Development Studies, from the Development Studies Institute (DESTIN) at the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE), and BSc (Hons) Economics and Politics from the University of Bath, UK.

Her Masters research thesis covered the sustainability of antiretrovirals provisioning in the context of the Swaziland health system. During her time at the LSE, she focused on the economics and politics of African development, public health and infectious diseases. Her first degree thesis was written on the topic of ethnic inequalities and wealth distribution in Malaysia.
