Brian Brinker - CSR Intern
Brian Brinker joined OWW in June 2010 as a CSR Intern from the American University Washington DC.
Brian Brinker holds a B.A. In Philosophy, a B.S. In Interdisciplinary Social Science with a Concentration in International Studies and a Specialisation in Peace and Justice Studies from Michigan State University. He is currently pursuing a Master's degree in Ethics, Peace, and Global Affairs from American University. He has also studied in Malaysia and Mexico, examining the affects of Globalisation on their respective economies. Apart from education he has experience as a Refugee Resettlement worker, has managed several after school tutoring programs for refugee children, worked as an academic research assistant, and been involved in various other community projects.
Renar Berandi – CSR Analyst, Indonesia Office
Renar Berandi joined PT OWW Consulting in 2010 as a CSR Analyst in our Jakarta Office.
Prior to joining OWW, Renar was a Program Support Officer for WWF-Indonesia in their Aceh Program Office, responsible for coordinating a partnership between ARC and WWF, advocating environmental considerations into the work of humanitarian organisations, assisting the forestry and marine division on natural resources preservation and helping the coordination of campaigns, training and community meeting coordination.
He has a strong record of volunteering community leadership as a tutor for underprivileged child garbage collectors in Indonesia. He was also active in student leadership as University of Indonesia's representative at the International Student Symposium, Singapore, Deputy Chief for Scientific Bureau of International Relations Student Association of UI and Project Officer for Asia-UNINET for Austrian Students taking their studies on Indonesia. He was also a Peer Educator for Indonesia AIDS Foundation and helped organize a conference on HIV/AIDS Prevention in Jakarta in 2004 to educate fellow youngsters on HIV/AIDS prevention. He was an Official Observer for Indonesia's presidential election and parliamentary election in 2004.
Renar hold a Masters in International Humanitarian Action jointly from University of Warsaw, Poland, Catholic University of Louvain, Belgium & Uppsala University, Sweden and Bachelor of Arts in International Relations from University of Indonesia, Indonesia.
In his spare time Renar enjoys reading (fiction and non-fiction) and exposure to cross-cultural lifestyles especially between Europe and Asia. Soaking up the cultural ambience takes up a lot of his time!
Sani Burhanuddin – Country Director, Indonesia
Sani joined OWW Consulting in 2009 and was appointed director of PT OWW Consulting in 2010 to head our operations in Indonesia.
Sani was formerly an Investment Specialist with the Indonesian Biodiversity Foundation (KEHATI) responsible for managing its US$30 million endowment fund and grants to local organizations for biodiversity and community development.
In this role Sani was the lead coordinator for the development of the SRI-KEHATI Index, the Indonesian Sustainable and Responsible Investment (SRI) Index launched in June 2009 in cooperation with the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX). He also initiated the exclusive Mutual Green Fund (reksadana Kehati Lestari) for Kehati which cooperates on a green fund campaign with local investment managers.
Before this Sani was a Product Development Manager with PT Mega Capital Indonesia, responsible for developing and enhancing their investment products particularly in fixed income products tosuit market demand. He began his professional career at Hong Kong and Shanghai Banking Corporation (HSBC), Bandung, Indonesia, as a Premier Banking Officer and Private Banking Representative for high net worth clients.
Sani holds a Masters in Business Administration (MBA) from Lansbridge University, New Brunswick, Canada and a Bachelors n Business Administration (Sarjana Sosial), School of Social and Politic Science, Catholic University of Indonesia, Parahyangan, Bandung, Indonesia. He also holds a Certificate in Professional Development Programmes for Grant Making, Monitoring and Evaluation, from the Association of Charitable Foundations, UK and a Certificate of Foundation and Endowment Asset Management (FEAM), London Business School, London, UK.
Sani enjoys travelling, reading and music as big fan of Mandalay.
Irene Chen – CSR Analyst

Irene Chen joined OWW as CSR Analyst in October 2009.
Irene holds a BA (Hons) in Management Studies from The University of Nottingham and MA in Corporate Social Responsibility also from Nottingham University Business School, which is run by a highly regarded CSR academic specialist, International Centre for Corporate Social Responsibility (ICCSR). Her Masters Research area focused on the relationship between CSR and Consumer Ethical Buying Behaviour.
Irene’s interest in CSR was really sparked by observing a fairly significant change over recent years in the way in which NGOs are increasingly proactively and positively engaging with companies strategically. Before joining OWW, she has gained some relevant experience, both in the corporate and non-profit sector. Irene has previously worked for HATI Organization where she was responsible for looking after stakeholder engagement programme. She has also previously interned with CIMB Group Malaysia, engaging in the company’s CSR reach-out project in collaboration with Malaysia Environmental Organizations. She is an active volunteer member of REACH (Community for deaf and mute), responsible in providing social and educational assistance to the community and in promoting sign language course to close the gap.
She does conversational sign language and currently taking a more advanced course. She also speaks Chinese Mandarin, English, Bahasa Malaysia and Bahasa Indonesia.

Rosalia Engchuan – CSR Intern

Rosalia joined OWW Consulting in January 2010, as an Intern within the SRI Research Team, and is currently also a student of Asian Studies and Management at Konstanz University of Applied Science in Germany.
Rosalia's work incorporates providing analysis of the CSR performance of leading companies in OWW's CSR research programme, providing input into CSR advisory and reporting projects for individual clients as part of our CSR programme, assisting in the preparation of CSR reports to international standards, providing assistance in OWW's global CSR research projects, and assisting the Directors in Business Development, Client Interface Management and network building.
In the course of her studies, Rosalia has travelled to Malaysia to attend language courses and to join the CSR and Philanthropy Transdisciplinary Action Group (CPTAG) at the USM, Penang. She has also travelled to Indonesia, supported by the DAAD, where she took part in the organisation and performance of a CSR workshop together with students at the Gadjah Mada University in Yogyakarta, Indonesia.
Rosalia speaks German (native) and English (fluent), she also speaks Bahasa Malaysia at a basic level.
In her spare time Rosalia enjoys travelling, and reading philosophy.
William Jack Hall - CSR Intern
Jack Hall joined OWW in January 2010 as a CSR Intern from Bath University in the United Kingdom.
Jack holds a BSc in Business Management from Cardiff University, UK and is currently pursuing his MSc in Advanced Management Practice at the School of Management, University of Bath, UK.
He takes part in all aspects of OWW CSR work as part of the intern programme. Apart from his studies Jack has worked as a volunteer English Teacher and Mentor in Tamil Nadu, India where he lived and worked in an orphanage mentoring children whilst teaching English in a nearby village during the day. He also took part in 'The Romania Project' as Group Leader where he worked as part of a group raising funds for a Romanian orphanage and travelled out during the summer to ensure funds were being implemented appropriately. He was asked to speak in Romania at a conference to promote volunteering in the country and was voted head of the team in the third year. The project has since developed into 'The Libra Foundation'.
He has also worked as a youth leader at Camp Combe, New York: Adventure Trip Leader programme where he had the responsibility of looking aftergroups of teenagers (14 years) for periods of two weeks.
Maria Delia Ibanez Lau ('JING') – CSR Analyst

Jing joined OWW Consulting in September 2008.
She currently works as an analyst within the SRI Research team, and also assists with all Japanese translation services and analyses of major Japanese companies.
Jing has extensive experience of working in the corporate sector as a Japanese language specialist, trainer and translator for a number of major regional companies.
Jing is a graduate in Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education Philippine Christian University and holds a number of Japanese Teaching and Language qualifications including Japanese Teachers Training Certificate Sponsored by Japan Foundation KL, Short Term Training Program for Japanese Language in Saitama Japan / Sponsored by Japan Foundation Scholarship Fund KL and Japanese Language Course Certification from Japan Foundation Philippines. She is a recipient of the Outstanding Students Study Tour Scholarship to Japan Sponsored by Japan Foundation Philippines.
Jing enjoys lots of active pursuits and sports including scuba diving, playing badminton, and hiking, as well as spending time with her two boys.
Sean Lim – CSR Analyst

Sean joined OWW Consulting in April 2009.
He graduated from University of New South Wales with a Bachelor of Commerce degree with a major in Finance and Economics. He also studied Japanese during as his elective subject and has participated in a half year exchange program in Kudanshita Language Program in Tokyo, Japan.
Prior to joining OWW Consulting, was an Executive in the Business Research & Information Services Division at PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) Malaysia. His job scope included research, analysis, data gathering and collation of financial and non-financial information on advisory and Bloomberg request. He had also served in IBM Malaysia as an intern for 3 months as a junior financial analyst.
Sean's contribution includes significant expertise in ESG rating, allegation searches and negative screenings on Asian companies. He also plays a leading role in rating of Malaysian, Indonesian, Singaporean, Korean, Hong Kong (China) and Indian companies on their respective Environmental, Social and Governance scores are compiled into OWW ESG Research databases and our SRI Index Series. Sean has widened his expertise on CSR advisory services for leading clients including Sunway Holdings Berhad and Sunway City Berhad, two of Malaysia's leading companies.
He is fluent in English (native), Chinese (fluent), Malay (fluent) and Japanese (Intermediate). In his spare time Sean enjoys travelling, reading and listening to music.
Carlos Oliveros – CSR Analyst

Carlos Oliveros joined as a CSR analyst in July 2009.
Carlos holds two bachelor degrees in Political Science and Government and International Relations from the Rosario University in Colombia where he focused in both democratic participation and international security issues for his thesis projects. Currently he is a Master's candidate in International Development and Management (LUMID) programme in Lund University.
He has previous experience working as a Research Assistant in Development and Gender Projects for two years in the CEPI (Centro de Estudios Politicos en Internacionales) and as an advisor for the Forbes Magazine Research group in Bogota. He interned in the public sector with the Colombian Ministry of Foreign Affairs in the Direction of Multilateral Economic, Social and Environmental Affairs.
Carlos Oliveros joined as a CSR analyst in July 2009. His tasks focus on SRI assessment, GRI process and CSR publications. He also supports the Academy of Responsible Management researching in Corporate Governance, Sustainability Reporting and other CSR related issues in Asia.
Carlos speaks Spanish (native), English (fluent) and French (intermediate). He is a history and astronomy dilettante.
Andre Soeseno - Software Developer
Andre Soeseno joined OWW in May 2010 as a Software Developer.
Andre holds a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology (RMIT) University. As part of this degree he completed the Oracle Certification Training Programme . He has experience in Web Development and Support and his previous work included developing various web application using PHP, MySQL and ASP.NET.
Andre speaks Bahasa Indonesia (native), Bahasa Malaysia, and English.
Andre enjoys watching movies, playing computer games, reading about politics, history, and electronics, and upgrading his personal computer.
Amy Russell - CSR Associate
Amy Russell joined OWW Consulting in May 2010.
She holds an MSc in Development Studies from the School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS), London, and a BA Hons. in English Literature from the University of Cambridge. Her specialisations include sustainable development and climate change, education, and issues in forced migration.
From 2008 to 2009, Amy worked for the Commonwealth Foundation, London, in the areas of culture and education. She helped to coordinate and facilitate major events, such as the 17th Conference of Commonwealth Education Ministers (17CCEM) in Kuala Lumpur last year, and the Commonwealth Writers' Prize 2010 Final Programme in New Delhi in May 2010.
Earlier this year, she worked in Kerala, India, at the Centre for Research and Education for Social Transformation (CREST), working with marginalised communities to provide training and communication skills.
Amy is an avid creative writer, and was the First Prize winner of the John Treherne Prize for Creative Writing from Downing College, University of Cambridge, in 2007. She has contributed to various publications on the subjects of: education and social cohesion, climate change refugees, remittances and development, interfaith issues and most recently, CSR.
E-Yon Park – Head of SRI Research

E-Yon Park joined OWW as a CSR Analyst in July 2009.
E-Yon graduated with an MA in Politics from New York University and a BA in Political Science from the Ohio State University, Columbus. During her graduate studies at NYU, she specialized in political economy and her research interests include regionalism in trade and development, comparative politics, quantitative methods, nationalism, and political economy model in both developed and developing countries. Her Masters thesis focused on how political factors affect the electoral outcomes with free trade agreements issues. She also worked as a teaching fellowship at NYU Stern School of Business and a teaching assistant at NYU Department of Politics.
Previously, she worked as an occupancy technician at the Housing Authority, Houston, Texas, where she was responsible for reviewing and screening the application files in US Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD)’s Section 8 program and issuing vouchers. E-Yon interned at the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF), New York in researching the issues of social protection, children and migration, gender and remittances. She also held an internship at the United Nations Department of Economic and Social Affairs (UN-DESA), New York, where she collected re-exports data from all the UN member countries and decided appropriate data set for 2000-2008 Annual Total Trade and UN Comtrade data.
She speaks Korean (native), English (fluent), and French (basic), and enjoys travelling, learning new languages, and reading about international politics.
Amir Shariff – CSR Analyst

Amir joined OWW Consulting in February, 2010.
Amir graduated from the University of Macquarie Sydney, in 2005, with a Bachelor of Commerce – Accounting. Thereafter, he spent the beginning of his career in the Finance Industry with a special focus on start-ups. Whilst in Sydney, he also completed the Graduate Certificate in Applied Finance and Investments with the Financial Securities Institute of Australia (FINSIA), which included subjects in Securities Industry Law and Ethics, Financial Analysis and Global markets.
Whilst working for a private financial intermediary, Amir developed business plans for companies seeking funding or financial aid, assisted in the production of documents relevant for company IPO’s as well as being listed on the stock exchange. Specialising in the area of business development, he has produced plans on many different industry sectors.
Amir speaks English (native) and Bahasa Malaysia (native).
Amir enjoys watching and playing football and doing outdoor activities including hiking, swimming, snorkelling, and camping.
Dr.Geoffrey Williams – Chief Executive Officer

Dr Geoffrey Williams is a founding director and Chief Executive Officer of OWW Consulting in Malaysia and Singapore. He is also a director of the Academy of Responsible Management Sdn Bhd and Opinion Tiger Sdn Bhd. He is a Deputy-Chair of the EU Malaysia Chamber of Commerce and Industry (EUMCCI) CSR Committee.
Geoffrey’s most recent work has focussed on Corporate Social Responsibility in a global context and in particular, on the factors that determine the success of CSR initiatives in different socio-political contexts. He has worked with leading international companies and organisations including PETRONAS, UEM Group, PLUS Expressways Berhad, UMW Holdings Berhad, MRCB, Resorts World Berhad, du – the Emirates Integrated Telecommunications Company, Telekom Malaysia Berhad, Sime Darby Berhad, the Abu Dhabi Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the International Labour Organisation, the European Commission and many others.
Geoffrey has held academic positions at London Business School, Pembroke College University of Oxford and the Universities of London, Nottingham, Liverpool and elsewhere. He is an Associate Member of the Centre for Business, Organisations and Society, School of Management, University of Bath, United Kingdom and was elected Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts (RSA) in 2004 and Fellow of the Malaysian Institute of Management (MIM) in 2010.
His work has been published in leading academic journals including Oxford Review of Economic Policy, Journal of Business Ethics, Journal of Economic Psychology, Journal of Economic Behavior and Organisation, Research Policy, Business Ethics: A European Review, Review of Income and Wealth, European Competition Law Review, Review of Financial Economics, Journal of Behavioral Finance, Journal of Macroeconomics, Information Economics and Policy, Applied Economics, Applied Financial Economics, International Review of Business and Economics. His edited volume "CSR - Perspectives from Asia" will be published by Palgrave-MacMillan in 2010.

Luke Wood – Chief Technical Officer

Luke Wood is a founding director of OWW Consulting and was appointed Chief Technical Officer in June 2006. He is also Director of the Academy of Responsible Management Sdn Bhd and Opinion Tiger Sdn Bhd.
Within OWW Consulting, Luke is responsible for the creation of research systems and processes, the design and implementation of surveys and the collation and analysis of survey data using web-based technologies. He has a strong background and understanding of business problems in high technology industries both from a practical and research perspective and has extensive experience of data collection and web-based surveying techniques. He has also been actively involved in the development of the OWW CSR Ratings System and has directed CSR projects for du, MRCB, PLUS Expressways, Petronas, Telekom Malaysia and others as part of the OWW CSR Advisory Portfolio.
In his role as Chief Technical Officer, Luke has been responsible for the design and implementation of the OWW ResponsibilityTM SRI Ratings Tool and the OWW ResponsibilityTM Web-Search Tool which are our unique proprietary software. He is also a key liaison with OWW partners at the SAS® Institute for the implementation of our joint sustainability software. In addition he is responsible for the design, maintenance and security of the OWW network infrastructure
He is an MBA graduate of Nottingham University Business School (NUBS) and has a BA (Hons) from Kingston University, United Kingdom. His MBA dissertation on media piracy was awarded with distinction.
His professional experience is drawn from the music industry in the United Kingdom in which he worked in a variety of technical roles for a number of years, specialising in the technological solution of high volume data handling.
He was involved in the design and creation of a digital music library of 700,000 commercial tracks. This music was used in a range of web-based commercial applications including digital jukeboxes. An investigative study was conducted in 2006 to establish the feasibility of expanding this business into Malaysia and Singapore. He has also investigated methods to combat the illegal exploitation of copyrighted music on the internet.
Ahmed Younes - CEO & Managing Director, Maqdera
Ahmed Younes is the CEO & Managing Director of Maqdera, a partner of OWW Consulting based in Jeddah, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
He holds an MBA from Golden Gate University, San Francisco, an MA and BA in International Relations and a BSc in Business Administration all from San Francisco State University.
Ahmed is an experienced executive and has worked in leading multi-cultural operations including the Jeddah Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the World Gold Council in Geneva and Shell amongst others.
He has developed a record of increasing efficiency, revenue, and overall profitability. He is adept at corporate development and strategic planning and has a demonstrated ability to launch new products and increase sales in established markets. Ahmed has outstanding interpersonal, team building, and communication skills.
He provides core competencies in strategic planning, branding and marketing, executive leadership, sales of consumer goods, product development, program and project management, operational management, staff training and development, event management, international business and Corporate Social Responsibility.
Nur Muhammad Tajrid bin Datuk Dr Zahalan – Assistant to the Directors

Nur Muhammad Tajrid Bin Datuk Dr Zahalan is the Assistant to the Directors.
Tajrid is responsible for management of the Directors’ Department and for arranging the time schedules and activities of the directors. He also has a key role in assisting the general management of the Company, client liaison and IT related support.
Tajrid is also the Managing Director of his own event management company Pengurusan Gemilang Sari and holds a Diploma in Airline Flight Management and Customer Service.
He speaks Bahasa Malaysia (native) and English (fluent).
In his spare time Tajrid enjoys eating and sleeping when he is not at the gym or the movies. He is a talented craftsman and artist and his work has been commissioned by many private clients in Malaysia. He has produced original abstract works for our Head Office in KL Sentral.
