UAECSR

UAECSRUAECSR, the Emirates Group for Corporate Social Responsibility has a vision to entrench a culture of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) in institutions across the United Arab Emirates and activate private sector participation in community development in the areas of health, environmental, educational, cultural and voluntary work. UAECSR's objectives are to develop plans and strategies designed to foster CSR in the private sector, encourage the members and employees of the Abu Dhabi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ADCCI) to embrace social responsibility programs and help to share and transfer social responsibility experiences between stakeholders to highlight the successes of CSR programmes as a model for others.

As part of the efforts of ADCCI and Abu Dhabi CSR, UAECSR has adopted a pioneering role in deepening the culture of CSR for their members and members of the Chamber and created the first forum for CSR held under the patronage of HH Sheikh Hamdan Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister of UAE and Chairman of UAE Red Crescent. A regular series of conferences is held as part of the Zayed Cares programme in Abu Dhabi and the UAE.

Experience Statements

"
I attended a conference in Kuala Lumpur organised by OWW Consulting, the theme of which was "responsible recovery from the global crisis... the conference also contained some striking presentations that set the debate about recovery in a different context ... This was a different kind of business conference. The poor were discussed, a lot. The role of faith-based finance dominated an entire session. The environmental crisis was never far from the discussion. This is a serious and pressing agenda for managers. It is important stuff.
